Sinners Never Sleep

This single mattress upon which I lay
Tickles me uncomely of a previous day
That I became my own doctor
I medicate this way.
Death shuts me down
You are the light
And despite everything
Somehow I might be alright.
If God inhabits me
The devil being my guide
Then of which fate have I tested
Now there's nowhere to hide.
Even in my sleep
I achieve a glimpse of peace
All my practices enchanting
I'll be the last man standing.
Never again will I fall victim to blame
Nobody has the power to inflict me with pain
Because somewhere secret we are all the same
To unlock my potential, I will train.
