I know you’re fond of darkness 
And being lost to the background
But space is infinitely large
and dark

You could be the sun
Meaningful to a few planets
in the never ending galaxies 
Surrounded by darkness 
(Just the way you like it)

I can be the moon
depending on you
Still using you as a crutch
to give me purpose

At least I see now that you need
to be kept at a distance
But you’re still there
And I’m still here

We’re relevant to to each other
Even if we don’t have to be
