ONE AGAINST THE STORM

i was used to leaning backward

so i'd bend but never break

i fell along the way, but never

made the same mistake

i was faced with fierce resistance

all my foes came in a swarm

a multitude of worries

yet was

one against the storm

i was used to independence

not relying on a soul

i felt quite self-reliant

but yet not completely whole

those chilly winds kept blowing

but my heart would feel so warm

if i could find an ally

not be

one against a storm

at last, i've found a partner

who will stay right by my side

and hold me close to give me strength

until my tears have dried

some mates don't share their problems

but for lovers, it's the norm

there still may be some flurries

but we're

one against the storm
