Sliding into the pilots seat of the 7 droids old mining ship, Prince Meteors hand quickly darted over the control panel, pressing various buttons and turning dials; the control panel lighting up and then, pushing forwards the thrust lever, he made the ship rise upwards from the Moon’s surface.
“I hope you don’t mind me borrowing the ship, little Droid”, he said to Droid Number 4 who was peering over his shoulder, “But we have to get Princess Starbright off of this Moon if, as she says, this Queen Galaxina is trying to kill her, she’ll be back to try again. We have to take the Princess somewhere where the Queen will never find her”.
Then, suddenly, hitting the launch button and firing all of the ships rear booster rockets at once, the Prince made the ship lurch upwards towards the stars.
“Do you really think there is anywhere out there where I will be safe?”, asked Starbright gloomily as she entered the Cabin.
“It’s a big Universe, Princess”, said the Prince, “And your Queen doesn’t rule everywhere”.
Just then, however, the Prince noticed something strange appear on the scanner; something gigantic.
“What is that?”, he asked, startled.
But then, switching to visual; on a large video screen overhead, the Prince and Princess saw the answer; a gigantic space battleship shaped like a Dragon.
“My Stepmothers Imperial Dragoncruiser”, said Starbright.
Then, out of the mouth of the Dragonship came a torrent of lightfire; artificial fire made from light that burned in the vacuum of space and, exploding round about the Droid ship, missiles flew from the Dragonships talons.
The Prince activated the Droids ships protective energy shields just in time to stop the first of the Queens missiles from hitting its fuel replicator.
Queen Galaxina’s grinning face appeared upon the video screen.
“You have had exceptional luck up until now, Starbright but here your luck is about to end. My dragon ship will blast your puny mining ship out of existence”, she said before, throwing her head back she started to laugh manically.
The evil queens face faded from the screen and Starbright put her head in her hands.
“So this is it”, she said, despairingly, “This is the end. I had thought…”.
“What?”, asked the Prince.
“A silly thought”, Starbright replied, “All the fairy tales my mother used to tell me when my parents were alive about Princesses marrying Princes. I was sure that, even though bad things were happening to me, it would somehow all end happily, the way it does in fairytales”.
“Well, what makes you think that it won’t?”, asked the Prince.
“But how can it”, said Starbright, “You heard what the Queen said. Her Dragonship is going to blast us out of existence”.
“I make it a rule never to listen to what Wicked Queens say”, replied the Prince, “Besides, I have a plan”.
The Prince started to tap something into the ships central computer.
“This ship travels by teleportation you know; it makes a copy of the ship and all the crew on board in a different location and then it destroys the original; seems a little like death to me still, I suppose it’s alright for a droidship. However, if I can just reprogram the teleporter”, he said, “Then perhaps I can make it teleport without destroying the original ship”.
Starbright looked bewildered.
“But what good would that do?”, she asked.
“Aha!”, said the Prince smiling; striking a final key on the computer before, turning to look at the princess, he added, “Just wait and see”.
Then, suddenly, upon the video screen, to Starbrights utter amazement, she saw copies of their ship; they looked like exact replicas, appearing all around the Queens dragonship.
“Surrender, Queen Galaxina”, said the Prince, speaking into the ship-to-ship intercom, “You are surrounded by the battle fleet of Princess Starbright”.
Over the intercom, the Prince and Princess heard the Queen shriek in disbelief.
....And that is how Prince Meteor defeated the Evil Queen Galaxina and how Princess Starbright became the new Queen of the Galaxy and she married the Prince as well, with the Seven Droids as her bridesmaids and they both lived happily ever after.
