The Beach

Do you still see with the exhiliration and wonder of a lover much younger
when you walk upon the shores sharing silence with the birds
barefeet sinking into soft sands gentle water carressing as a lovers hands
sparkling waves shimmering below the horizon oranges pinks blues reds
what do you feel as the time slips away?
a blanket of happiness tinged with nostalgia seeping in
to be a part of such majesty then to turn and walk away
a fleeting glympse of eternal beauty so much grander than oneself
aweing the senses and humbling the soul
will you return to visit with me once more?
as you did in days long gone by
long long before

This feels like the gentle
This feels like the gentle ebb and flow of waves of nostalgia.
