OCEANS LAST FOREVER

your teardrops are cascading
like a cruel torrential rain
your rainbows, lost in shadows
so they cannot ease your pain
.
at last, the dawn is breaking
and your slate has been wiped clean
the only trace of sadness
are the tears left on the scene
.
you'll find, dissolving quickly
are these puddles in the sun
but oceans last forever
and your freedom's never won
.
you try to run from trouble
trouble has such lively feet
after knocking you, akimbo
it will chase you down the street
.
you're bound to step in puddles
that are not of your design
but you cannot walk on water
or turn water into wine
.
you'll find, dissolving quickly
are those puddles in your path
but oceans last forever
you must face that aftermath

did you pick those words out of my head? this is a really brilliant poem - it struck a chord with me.
