Has the image of me dulled in my absence?

Has the scent of me diminished in your senses?

Perhaps your feelings dampened?

If you wanted to remember - go

to the place your feet will take you,

across uneven ground and quiet 

solitude - somewhere sheltered,

somewhere secret, somewhere safe,

look for something to remind you...

this is sad, Cassie... it doesn't help knowing that the pain specific to your narrator has probably been felt by all of us at some point. we can all retrace our steps to where the narrator is now
