Sitting in the living room

when the world went ping!

The air was fraught

and I was caught...

wondering where it came from?  

after the 21st hour...

was something plucked

from above?  something unknown...

I'm cooling down

from racing up and down.

Was someone trying to appear

a darkness in the air

beyond the light source.

Absolutely loved the first two lines of this (and the rest, of course) but imagining the world going 'ping' quite tickled my fancy.  It is a ghostly tale, and no mistake.
