The girl with a paper heart and stained glass eyes
Hopes she never breaks or catches fire
She is emotionless and hollow
Yet still sees the world in vibrant colour
She struggles to understand
And slowly tears inside
She wishes she had different eyes
And wants to run and hide
She is fragile and gentle
A bird about to fly
Yet she's still puzzled
And continues to ask 'why?'
But maybe all along
She never had stained glass eyes
And maybe long ago
Her paper heart tore open wide
Now she struggles to find the pieces
Of all that she once was
But there's nothing to be done
And all she feels is constant loss
