Long ago, in Japan a young girl called Sakura was kidnapped by an old witch and kept as her prisoner so that the witch could sap her youthful life force from her.
Sometimes the girl would try to escape but each time the girl, because the witch had sapped her energy, would grow tired and fall asleep and then the witch because she had an enormous nose would smell her out and, finding her asleep in the forest would take her back to her house.
One time however, while the witch was away, Sakura ran into the forest and she fell asleep underneath a blossom tree and the blossom tree, knowing that the witch would come looking for her scattered all its petals over her to hide her.
And when the witch, returning home and discovering Sakura missing, went into the forest to look for her she couldn't see her anywhere.
Even when the witch sniffed with her long nose she couldn't smell the girl because the perfume of the trees blossoms hid her smell.
So then the witch, cursing the girl, went back to her cottage and when the girl woke up she was so greatful to the blossom tree for hiding her that she hugged and kissed the tree.
The moment that she did however, the tree turned into a handsome young prince who explained that, long ago the witch had turned him into a blossom tree.
But then the Prince took the girl home with him to live in his palace and soon after they fell in love and were married, she wearing a beautiful gown made of blossom petals.
