the moment we arrive

we are confused as we can be

we hear sounds that hurt our eardrums

only blurry lights we see

how pathetic an existence

when we lack the proper tool

we poop inside our diapers

crack a smile and start to drool

how can we solve the riddle

if we haven't learned the art

instead of being ignorant

i wish we'd be born smart

oh sure, we learn eventually

but then we go to pot

as soon as we get up to speed

we lose the brains we've got

in the years that they call "golden"

we will only play the fool

we'll poop inside our diapers

crack a smile and start to drool

we'd be better at avoiding things

that spill the apple cart

instead of being ignorant

i wish we'd be born smart
