CAROUSEL

she'd reached the age of thirty
but if you must know the truth
she still maintained the innocence
she fancied in her youth
.
she often looked back fondly
on a certain carousel
she'd ridden many years ago
but still remembered well
.
she vowed she would return there
to experience the thrill
of being young and curious
with energy to spill
.
she made a reservation
quickly flew off to the town
that held the cherished carousel
where she had spun around
.
arriving at the airport
seeking baggage she had checked
she saw the lovely carousel
moved closer to inspect
.
she jumped upon the carousel
around and round she spun
till members of security
stepped in to end her fun
.
they told her to get packing
in defeat, she flew back home
and when the flight was over
to the baggage claim, she roamed
.
her eyes popped in amazement
and a smile grew from her frown
this was a better carousel
and right in her home town
