TERRIBLY TRAGIC AND MERRILY MAGIC

 

terribly tragic and merrily magic

were lovers who dwelt on this earth

a victim of drama met riotous mama

a-blazing for all she was worth

.

this fellow, so tragic, spoke rudely to magic

you're splashy but done in a flash

your hocus and pocus a bit out of focus

and ultimately end up as ash

.

then magic exploded, as one does when goaded

and threw down a lecture to him

one wants to start bawling when tragedy's calling

my patience, incredibly slim

said tragic, i'm frightened that you're not enlightened

you think that you're queen of the hill

when perched on the summit, you're shaky, dadgummit

with nowhere but down when you spill

.

then magic said, darling, let's stop all this snarling

you know i'm dependent on you

it's you i am needing, a bandage when bleeding

i'm helpless and haven't a clue

.

then tragic embraced her, then leaned down and faced her

and promised for all of his life

to hold on to magic, for it would be tragic

if they were not made man and wife
