Statement: on the personal and political

            I write you as a young man very likely facing death...  and in a vulnerable position because I haven't property owed me by various corporations that used my intellectual property but also by the government which, at the very least, knowingly failed to intervene as I was illegally persecuted. I have complete confidence that this legal matter will eventually be settled, and damages paid to my heirs. But this gives me only partial peace of mind, as I am quite ill and lack a proper space to rest(and do the work that is actually critical...)  Some fraction of this difficult situation is my own doing. Like most every human, I have sinned. I'm still owed damage for the stones thrown at me. 

            Regarding the election, my participation in the political process and the Democratic Party has been a struggle and an honor.  Broadly speaking, I don't regret it in the least...   Though I may die soon, I know that history and law will eventually hold that I died as an honorable martyr. Otherwise, I'll live...  and we'll see what happens.

              At least as important to the reader as my personal fate is what's happening in the larger picture. A Democratic Party renaissance is afoot...  much of which started in the Sanders movement and found its truest power as it united with the mainstream party in Philadelphia.  But this can't just be about some partial partisan victory: Rather, it'll be about a re-assemblage of the political landscape and an end to this vile Washington gridlock so that pressing matters can actually be dealt with...  and significant legislation passed, broadly speaking for the first time in decades.  There's a lot to be done, and it's a lot closer than it was a year ago. That's useful work, by any standard of truth.

           In the end, we must 'come together:' black and white, rich and poor, elders and youth...  and share in the power of this great union, which deserves to be ever perfected in keeping with her founding vision
