Ballad of The Christmas Lovers

There were two Christmas lovers;
a young girl and a boy.
Their love felt just like Christmas time
it gave them so much joy.

Each night they'd meet in secret
under a mistletoe
a kiss as bright as candlelight
between their lips would glow.

But then, one night, the father
of the girl caught them there.
He shot the young boy in the heart.
The girl cried in despair.

Bright as a Christmas robins
red breast his blood did flow
the young girls tears upon his cheek
fell thick as winter snow.

 

5.

 

But that is not the ending;
our stories not yet told
for sometimes, upon Christmas Eve
'neath shining moon of Gold.

Some people swear they see them;
a ghostly girl and boy
kissing under a mistletoe
with smiles of Christmas joy.
