SIDESWIPED

this morning, i was sideswiped

thought i'd nearly die of fright

reclining in my leather

till a jolt brought me upright

i found myself pulled sideways

in a panic, i was seized

i saw where i was headed

could i fit through if i squeezed ?

but i made it through the juncture

by the skin of my own teeth

and plopped down, landing softly

in my leather, underneath

this all might seem quite scary

but you shouldn't take it hard

for i had not been driving

i am just a credit card
