You,
white steam
gliding through the Smurf-blue sky
soft as milk
or a cat's gentle blink.
Floating
like one long quivering violin note
you lag up our windowpanes
with cotton.
Stay. Please, don’t let this peacefulness escape!
Fine, if you must go
take back this calm.
No, it’s yours, I insist –
carry it wherever you go
the mindfulness of your white skin
the nimbus-wisdom.
Go correct someone else
on what they think they know.
