Remembering

Photo is my own
Dry and still is the day
as I slowly slip away,
coaxing leaves that
crunch beneath my boots,
damp air convinces me
it's early morning dew
that specks each uneven,
rambling blade of grass.
Saying farewell to summer's
throng of blooms that flourish,
remembering Sweet Williams;
fragrance flirting with each breath,
roses delicate scent carried on breezes
around a wooden framework winding;
soothes...enriches all fond memories,
giving of uncomplicated simpler times.

A lovely feeling of autumn
A lovely feeling of autumn approaching, but summer still lingers. Time passes for all of us, good memories help to keep the present sweet.

Lovely memories of summer
Lovely memories of summer displays are so much more three-dimensional than photos, and with scent and touch linked and remembered. I appreciated your noticing the dew drops on each blade of grass - frost needle patterns soon! Rhiannon

What great memories
What great memories of summer with autumn just around the corner your poem conjures up Jennifer. My wife's favourite flower is the rose. I like the way you walk us through the early morning dew (my favourite time of day) and indeed "uncomplicated simpler times"

Nice poem
I like the way you speak so fondly of summer's passing, but there is beauty to be seen in every season; winter with its ranbows, Spring fills the air with newly born creatures and Autumn carpets the earth with golden leaves.
Thank you for posting this.

Hi Jenny
I decided to start reviewing on your saved "memories". This is a lovely poem, where the reader can hear and see and remember.
