Once, along time ago, in Venezuela, a man who was a widower with two little daughters fell in love with a beautiful mysterious woman he met in the forest but the woman was a witch who, while the man slept, turned herself into a giant tarantula and killed him.
Woken by his screams his two little daughters were able to escape the tarantula, running out of their hut into the rainforest but they were orphans and didn't know where they could go or how they would survive.
As they were running through the forest however they bumped into a shaman who was able to turn himself into a cow tree or palo de vaca.
And turning into a cow tree he spouted sweet milk from his trunk and, drinking it, the two little girls became less frightened but also the tarantula that was following them got stuck in the milky sap and, striking the monster with his spear, the Shaman cut off one of the giant Tarantulas legs.
Then he told the little girls to come and live with him so he could protect them.
But turning back into her human form, though she now only had one arm, the witch plotted to catch the children.
And one day the witch spun a web between two trees that was so fine that it was invisible to the human eye and infront of it placed lots of nice things to eat and when the two little girls came out to play, seeing and running towards the nice food they got stuck upon the giant web.
Then, turning back into a giant tarantula, the witch crawled towards them.
But, frightened, they called out to the shaman and he quickly turned himself into a condor and, swooping down, he picked up the giant tarantula in his talons, carrying it off.
Wrestling in mid air, the witch wrapped her tarantula arms around the condor and was going to bite him with her terrible venomous jaws but the condor flew through a sacred waterfall and the cascading water washed the tarantula off of him and into the deep lake below where it was eaten by the Rahara, a giant snake like monster that lives in lakes and lagoons.
After that, knowing that the witch was dead, the two little girls felt safe to run and play in the forest and they were happy living with the shaman.
Unfortunately, as the tarantula had been devoured by the lake monster it had torn off one of its legs and the leg had become a little watersnake that had swam away to the home of the witches sister who was a powerful demon.
"Sister, avenge me", the snake had said to the demon before dying.
So then the demon, making herself into a giantess went stomping across the forest towards the hut of the Shaman, vowing to stamp it into the ground.
And hearing the earthquake of her giant feet and seeing her approaching, at first the Shaman didn't know what he should do but then, an idea occurring to him, he turned himself into a tiny bullet ant and crawling very fast up the leg of the giant demon, he climbed all the way to her left ear and then into her ear hole.
Then, inside the demons head, the bullet ant bit at her brain and, because the bullet ant has the most painful of all bites, the demon couldn't bear it and bashed her head against a mountain to try and get the bullet ant out of her ear and when that didn't work, stuck an entire anteater in her ear to eat the ant.
But then the shaman turned himself into an anaconda and swallowed the anteater and then, coiling himself around the demons brain he squeezed and squeezed tighter and tighter until the demon, unable to bear the headache anymore, chopped her own head off with her giant machete.
After that the Shaman returned to the two little girls and they lived happily evermore.
