Theory: If there are infinite non-whole numbers there will be infinite prime numbers.

Though I'm not very mathematically inclined, it seems logical to me that every non-whole number like every whole number has to multiply into something.
What do I mean by a non-whole number?
I mean like 6 and a half or 33 and a 3rd or 2000 and a fifth; a whole number plus a fraction.
6 and a half, multiplied, must become something and what it multiplies into is 13.
15 and a half, when multiplied, has to become something and it becomes 31.
WHAT I AM NOT SAYING HOWEVER, is that non-whole numbers ONLY multiply into Prime Numbers.
Obviously 4. 5 multiplied by 2 is 9 which is 3 x 3 and thus not a prime number.
But I think it is likely that if there are non-whole numbers then some of them will multiply into prime numbers.
And if there are infinite non-whole numbers it is likely that there will be infinite prime numbers.
