Silent night, creeping dark

A wasteland of velvet black

Duvet-shielded from reality

Careening thoughts caress my soul

Peace, peace Helios slumbers still

No one wake him!

I need the night…

Still thoughts…

Shhhh…….!

Crack! The dawn has broken

The world comes screaming in

Like a banshee full of voice

Beams of noisy light burst my bubble

And shout the day

Now the duvet’s power is broken

A cacophony of sound

Gate-crashes a world of hush

Once again I’m forced to listen

But WHY SO LOUD?
