ONCE

Thank you, Stephen. I did a lot of travelling since I hitch-hiked 6,6oo miles across Canada in 1961. Then I worked at many jobs all over Ontario until I settled down in Sarnia, Ontario, in 1974. I met Esther there and we married March 27, 1975 and will celebrate our 44th anniversary next year. Together we have written a lot of short stories, poems and children's books -- we post all of our work. Getting a print book published is not easy. So it does not stop me from writing. 

Than you for the great comparison, I am humbled. Each of us has something to share if we are willing to pursue it. I came very close to a writing / author career if the book I was promised to have been published was not cancelled due to a company financial decision. The co-publisher poned me to apologize for not fulfilling their commitment and I understood. A well known and VERY SUCCESSFUL author had many, many books published by this firm. And noted Canadian authoress Budge Wilson told me personally my career woud have been made if that company had published "Son of Fred." In the meantime my wife and I are gob-smacked that over one million hits have just recently taken place on reading our work on ABCTales.com. I also thank the editors for sharing our work with the world. I hope to encourage other writers to look around them and follow the path I believe in, as noted Canadian Toronto poet Ray Souster (now deceased) my poetry mentor in 1965 who told me to "write about everything."
