Saddened when you use his name
in exasperation,
or expletive word, in vain,
with no comprehension
that his kindness, love so great
you can know and savour.
Please don’t scoff, insult or hate
him, my Friend and Saviour.

If we know him, recognize
God, our Friend, with wonder,
we must speak with truth, not lies
carefully consider
not to cloud, mislead, confuse
for that would dishonour,
and we’d thus his name misuse,
grieve our heavenly Father.
