A Poem for Eleanor

She’s a precious lady
this dear one with
many nursing home friends
who love her. Their
chats joining laughter
in a gallop along the hallways.
Pals with family memories
such as a child in need of shoes.
Momma always said Jesus
would look after you if ever lonely.
Well now she is -- and fearful.
So was Jesus in Gethsemane
the garden where he prayed
as His apostles slept—
And Jesus still loved them
the same as He loves you too.

Thank you, Richard. I had seen it, but hadn't decided on a suitable reply! I hope to print it out very big, and take it to her soon. I hope it will touch her spirit when worried muddled up memories feel overwhelming, and help her to let go, and trust, whatever the real or imagined fear. Rhiannon
