“Coleslaw is a funny beast,” said Larry.
“Hilarious,” said Mick.
“No, I don’t mean it like that. I mean it is a tricky customer.”
“Why sayeth ye?”
“On more than one occasion, I have ‘lost the plot’ with it. Why just the other day, I wrote a story about a coleslaw delivery van having a near miss with a hummus lorry, only I couldn’t decide on a suitably complex means by the which the protagonists could prevent said catastrophe, so they ended up just jumping on the lorry and banging on the windshield.”
“A rather weak plot contrivance.”
“Indeed.”
“But is that the fault of the condiment or the author of the tale pertaining to such?”
“What are you suggesting?”
“Oh nothing really. But there is one other thing...”
“To what ‘other thing’ do you refer, friend Mick?”
“Didn’t the events you described just happen?”
“Foiled again!”
