A 115 HP Legend Extreme

slaps the current of

Lake Babine with a prow

determined to browse

by Bear Island.

You can hear faintly

grizzly bear growls

protecting their domain--

this tiny island

nestled within a conclave

of rocky eruptions from

BC Coastal Mts.

 

The craft pierces lake’s flow

splashing its hull

wind determined to sway

us from our direction.

We push on until

our journey is complete

and fish until

evening swells chase us home.
