I saw him on his
usual walk of day
exercise for an
older man--
once a firebrand
for life‘s joy -- now
accepting this act
of childhood
the hand he held
his grandchild
her eyes sparkled
in trust and love.
Proud he was
as steps brought
him forward
on a sidewalk
of promise
for the little one
and thankful
to share moments
in the twilight
of his life.

the last stop
Last stop? Even better! It would be great to feel like this at the end, a full life and filled with love and well-being and always kindness to others.
