A terrible thing is happening today
A terrible plague that won't go away
Corona virus is the trouble
Increasing at the double
People all over in isolations
Not just here but all the nations
Family and friends separated
Till the worst has abated
Doctors and nurses second to none
Taking risks till all is done
Unfortunately it all takes time
Don't break the advice that's a crime
Don't think it can't happen to you
Listen to the experts who give you their view
We've seen the action of all volunteers
So clap for nurses and doctors, three cheers
Thank you for neighbours who do their all
Who shop for medicines and give them a call
Big thank you national health pharmacy, surgery too
For each and everyone have a lot to do
Please don't dismay time will tell
We are a country that deals with problems very well
The last two wars it wasn't too long
By guts and hard work we were soon strong
To those who are ill send healing
Amen

Your dad has written such a great poem which is a testimony of how much of a caring person he must be.
I do hope you get to visit him, tell him he's a true poet and I hope writing is a therapy for him. Say thanks too for sharing his poetry.
And a big thanks to you too.
Jenny.

Nice poem. He has said it all, and very well. A fitting description of what we as a nation are experiencing.

Again, showing a really sharp mind, and drawing tthngs together compactly. And it's good to hear him combining encouragement to persevere, help each other iin all ways possible, with also acknowledgement of the real need to pray and trust where we see the limitations of human efforts however hard they work, and need God's guidance and blessing on them, as well as for hope beyond this life's troubles. The hymn 'Rock of Ages' so fitting. Rhiannon
