You'd be scared too!

You’d be scared too, if you were me!
A black toothed man is who I see,
He carries around a hunting knife,
And constantly threatens to end my life.
Distress could be the source of the illusion!
It could explain all of my confusion!
When I close my eyes to sleep,
I constantly wake suddenly, and weep!.
Am I asleep or am I awake?
Am I having a psychotic break?
Are my nightmares planting a seed?
Causing the thoughts in my head to stampede
Like a gazelle, spooked by a lion,
What kind of answer is on the horizon?
Medication? Maybe, but I’m on that already,
I take it to keep my thoughts steady,
I’d gladly adjust my dose to exchange,
This god awful man sending me deranged,
But that’s the psychiatrist’s responsibility,
Changing my meds solely their capability,
In the mean time I just have to endure,
These visions my mind is spreading like manure.

Well done!
I liked the story within the poem. And the revelations you made little by little building suspense. I would personally end it here though ...Changing my meds solely their capability...strong enough with that ending.
