Life is good

For the first time in a while

the silence isn't so deafening 

and there's something genuine in my smile,

my heart doesn't feel so heavy

and the world doesn't seem so vile,

home isn't a place I fear

and my thoughts are once again clear.

i hear your little girl giggle,

see her play, dance and wiggle,

makes my heart melt a little.

And I'm so proud of you

and all the hardship you've come through,

to finally be heading towards your happy place.

i take solice in knowing

that your strengths are growing

and the dark that once was in you is surely going,

and I see you, and I see her,

and I see what you've become,

and for the first time in a long time,

the world doesn't seem so glum.

my heart is feels a sense of joy 

in a way I forgot it could.
