Sounds of chaos,
Conflicting with the nice summer selection of classics.
There’s wrestling music, heavy or rap,
Coming down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Grandson eventually comes down,
Tic Toc and bits of telephone trash,
Invading my nice summer space.
They’re getting up.
Before we know the house and garden will be invaded by another household,
and the pristine garden will be strewn with toys again,
which no one will put away.
All the cups will be used,
And there will be no cutlery in the drawer.
The chocolate will have been raided from the fridge,
And the wrappers will be all over the floor again.
The TV controls will be lost,
And the animals upset.
