A wall of pain

roasted hundreds

of Koalas huddled

inside their last moments.

 

A 2019 fire-storm

ravaged

and savaged them

as they shuffled within

billowy smoke.

 

Now charred remains

a monument

to fury

from fire which

can be good but now bad

memories that day.

sad, very sad, animals and people, facing the same monster we created.

This terrible tragedy and the loss of so many of these beautiful and valuable creatures is a disaster beyond words, however if an Australian heard you call their national treasure a Bear you would probably get a good roasting yourself.

I would seriously suggest you remove the word bear and re-think line three.

(The first time I went to Australia I made the mistake if calling them bears.

'They're KOALAS, mate,' spoken in a tone that said,  'bloody POMs')
