How beautiful
the evening light
as it descends
slowly from within
its former bright.
No longer time
to prance about
nor shout out loud
as it hides behind
the clouds.
So sweet the sounds
when a loon’s delight
soothes a last
wisp of daytime play.
So soon - sleep arrives
after evening prayer.
