Some people seem to relish bad news
even though they can give one the blues.
They read of a virus called Covid,
that's like a long poem by Ovid
but without any rhyme or reason.
If ignored, it is worse than treason.
From this news the only respite
is to hear Trump's and Biden's spite,
both neck and neck in the election,
as they seek their voters' affection.
But today, like a breath of fresh air,
a positive report, nice to share,
that many people will want to hear.
Diagnosed with dementia last year,
a composer was reunited
with ex-students who were excited
to meet the teacher they respected
and by whom their lives were affected.
His performance is exemplary
seeing that he plays from memory.
His son filmed one of his recitals;
it was so good that it went viral.
even though they can give one the blues.

I'm a great fan of the Broadcasting House programme, Sunday mornings on Radio 4, and have been following Paul's story on there. They played the orchestral version of his four note tune yesterday, I was in absolute floods. Soon to be a single to raise money for dementia charities. Such a lovely bit of light in all the darkness.
