Aberdeen Beach Back in the Day

I look at the old photograph and picture the scene in my mind's eye, almost 50 years ago, and I can picture it , I am back there, back in the day, in my childhood, a long time ago.
I shall describe the scene:
'People jostle for a place in the queue at the ice-cream kiosk, buying cones and sliders, rushing back to eager eaters, melting ice-cream drips from fingers, music drifts from the speakers above, kids in swimsuits and sandals play with beachballs, buckets and spades, running in and out of the sea, splashing salty water everywhere, and jumping about scattering sand on overturned deckchairs'
I recall it as always being sunny in Summer back in the early 70's, maybe this is just a rose tinted recollection, families went to the beach back then :
'Shirt-sleeved , ties awry, men joining families for respite from the daily grind, eating egg and tomato sandwiches from packed picnics, wincing at the heat of the day and the tea from the flask'
I remember sitting there wondering what I would be up to when I was older, asking my Mum , what she thought I would be doing when I was thirty seven, as if a parent could predict her child's future.
The music playing over the speakers answered my question in my imagination, the voice sang 'Que Sera Sera, whatever will be will be', as I looked out to sea, imagining I could see as far as Peterhead on this clear sunny Summer day.

Aberdeen has a beautiful
Aberdeen has a beautiful beach. I had a lot of happy visits there there in the mid to late seventies - my dad was working in the oil business and I visited as often as I could - and you're right...it was always sunny
