I Am Thirsty

No well

to drink from-

Board of Health says

it’s

polluted.

No lake to lay by

and try to lap

from - dry days

have taken their toll.

I must scale that ridge

to seek a taste

my body

weak needs to be strong.

So saddle up

my bones

and let’s get on our way.
