Yet More Bonkers Moments

An absolute peach this morning. One journalist had been sent to cover the heat wave in Scarborough and the only question she was asked by the studio presenter was something like:
"We know that Yorkshire Water have called a hose pipe ban for later in the month, but what is it like in the rest of the country?"
I did wonder why they'd sent her to Scarborough to ask her a question about everywhere else. Is it the Bonkers idea of a private joke? After all, it only seems a few weeks since one of the news readers introduced a stunned weather forecaster as Ulrika Johnson (?). It sounded like that anyway.
It was a bit hard on Scarborough too. It's a lovely place with two glorious bays, so why the Bonkers team decided to film the piece in front of a rebuilt Berlin Wall I have no idea.
But Bonkers land is full of weird contradictions that the staff seem incapable of seeing. For example:
"Many people cannot afford to eat and heat".
"This is a record breaking heat wave."
"Food banks have sprung up in many parts of the country."
"There is an obesity crisis in the country, especially in deprived areas."
"There is a cost of living crisis and the government needs to step in quickly."
""Many employers are struggling to recruit staff, especially in hospitality, airports and transport."
"There is growing inflation, increased mortgage rates, high energy costs and growing poverty."
"Airports, roads and ferry ports are jammed with people trying to get away on holiday. Sales of electric vehicles and houses continue to climb."
Will the Bonkers Corp ever investigate their own headlines?
Right, I'm just going out to see my neighbour now.
Elvis Presley he's called.
