The lioness

On a sunshine day a stake driven into the cricket oval a lioness on a rope while I was tied to this peg she savage slinking circling winding around and around closer and closer winding growing fear I cannot move on the kept green lawn scared then terrified until her face in mine and she licked my face.
A big Rolls Royce with just as luxurious a very large trailer stopped with a chauffeur opening the door for me, “Western hills mental hospital?” I asked, “And the trailer?” “Rump steak”.

All this was very long ago,
And not quite such a good state of mind, sleeping in daytime I was a massive block of gold a glacier a lion grinding steadily slowly to the sea unstoppable,
… tick . tick . tick . the little balance scale
“ tik . tik . tik . die weegskaaltjie …”
My brother was worried he phoned my psychologist at the time he said they must keep me awake, at all costs not to fall asleep. My brother had a friend over he joked he wanted the stuff I'm on it's much better than any of theirs.
