Part 1.
They met at 1pm
Outside the Blue Sun café
It was overcast
And the café wasn’t blue
They ordered two skinny latte’s
To take away
There was silence and nerves
They crossed the road to the beach
Sat on a bench sipping their drinks
The sky was simmering with anger
This was a sign
That this date was a bad idea
Then the rain came down
They said farewell with a wave.
Part 2.
A ginger haired girl
Met a curly haired boy
They admired each other’s manes
Shiny and styled
They both smiled
Dress was casual but neat
It was a good start to the day
They wandered into the woods
Found a quiet spot
They had sex, got dressed
And laughed about the adventure
And how it started
With a like on Facebook
And ended with a 7 out of 10 on Tinder.
Part 3.
It was rare
To witness such an event
Two elderly folk holding hands
As they shuffled in synch
It was sweet and refreshing
It’s been a long time
Since they were last out
They put their arms around each other
They seemed so happy
I wonder what they talk about
Given all the years behind them
They were full of grace
With smiles on their face
Till death to they depart
They only met each other yesterday
If only the young
Could practise such an art.
Part 4.
No need for real names
No detailed history
Just an adventure
Covered in mystery
Laugh at the rumours
Scorn those who are prying
Kid yourself its true love
As you hear yourself sighing
It’s just a game without any rules
An ephemeral escapade
For misguided fools
Now that its over
No guilt was wrought
Both sighed with relief
That they never got caught.
