“Asmr! I don’t want to annoy this good lady. She is a grandmother. Why now? I think I can call you mad.”
“Damn well I am! How the hell can you come up with visions of true events without your knowing? Have you thought of that?” his eyeballs flicked and those irises jumped from spot to spot, “She is having issues with your dad and Don Mohora over Malibu, Mirihi and Makar. You know, nothing has been reverted.”
“Why is it now your problem?” I put it squarely on him, “Do you expect me to go in there and ask for her hand in marriage! Sorry, it is not going to happen.”
“Of course not,” said Asmr, “That will not make your father budge. I want to test something I haven’t tried before. It is called Suvargedor, meaning ‘Heaven’s Door’. That’s what I’m going to do in the New Moon.”
“Heaven’s Door! What the hell is it?”
“You know, religion is a sexy thing. When I raise the fahsha in a woman, meaning ‘lust’, the door will open. We won’t be able to see anything. Black Orchid is a black magic that will evoke lust in Sophie Nadz and anzal her to somewhere and we reroute her ‘descend’ to you.”
“Teleport?”
“Not exactly,” he sat very straight with his palms placed firmly on the stone on both sides, “She will travel to get to you or she might even invite you.”
“Is that Heaven’s Door?”
“That is Black Orchid.”
“What about Heaven’s Door?” I was confused.
“That is specifically for you. You will open that door. Once you do that, you’ll feel a different person.”
“You’re out of your mind!” I cried and looked for a fag desperately.
“Just be cooperative, Kawla!” he snapped, “and get on with it, this graveyard thing.”
“I don’t want anything to do with my dad.”
“He won’t have a clue. I promise. He would not even know who you are.”
I sat thinking about the dream my mom had.
Weeks later in Salt Waters at our special place on the promenade, Asmr brought a black orchid stalk, “This is a Monnierara Millennium Magic, better known as the ‘Witchcraft’ orchid and this is the blackest of the orchids that exist.”
I was shocked, “Mi falda! You have got that!”
“I did. I placed an order with Koni flower shop and they got them from Florida.”
“Is it rare?” I enquired.
“No. This is a hybrid that originated around ’99 but not recognised as a Monnier by some orchid societies around the globe.”
“Wow! It is really black!”
“It appears black at first glance. If you examine the petals closely, you might detect a dark purplish tone. The black orchid got its name because the difference of such shades of black is initially not very noticeable.”
“What do I have to do with this?” I asked rather sarcastically, “Go up, ring the bell and pass it to her!”
“You cannot go up!” grunted Murry, “You hit the buzzer at the Ground Floor for the Tenth Floor and they will see your face on video link.”
“Huh! I do not intend to go up,” I grumbled much firmly.
“Listen!” interrupted Asmr, “The spell is cast on the flowers. Now get down there, hold it in your left hand, close your eyes and think of the woman in question, then drop it into water.”
“Right now?”
“Right now,” he motioned, “You must get down fully naked.”
“Ah! I knew it!” I clenched, “Why must there be always something horrible!”
“Leave your keys, mobile and your clothes here.” Asmr ordered calmly.
I removed my shirt and pants. I was not wearing an underwear. I left everything behind, picked the orchid stalk with my left hand and crossed the esplanade to the rocks.
I closed my eyes and paused to think of the lady. I could think of nothing. Zero. Nothing came to my mind. I dumped the stalk into water and returned.
“Murry has taken your motorbike,” said Asmr.
“Why?” The moment I left all my things behind, Murry pinched the keys and gone somewhere on my bike. “Well, what is next?”
“Go home.”
“How am I supposed to go home! I cannot even open my room without my key.”
“Nothing is going to happen for a few days. We sit tight.”
“Sit tight!”
Jokey gave me a lift home on his motorbike. I got a handy tool from Sabo and forced the door open. Simon came half an hour later with my room keys and not the motorbike key.
“Where is my bike?” I wanted to know.
“Murry said he will return your bike after three days,” Simon told me.
“Three days!”
“He has gone to Nativa.”
I tried to get him on his mobile phone but it was switched off or I was blocked.
