Sailors On A Ghost Ship

We are the boys from sailors town , forever young we are ,

We’re looking for adventures  anywhere here , near or far .

Seeking all the treasures and mystic creatures of the sea .

On a ship sailing backwards through the tides of history .

Beyond new horizons to the island of Déjà Vu

Where we can see what happens before they actually do.

 

 

The boys of Sailors town travel the oceans evermore

on a voyage of discovery to see every single shore

through every season and all the storms that we go through

to find a reason why as time travellers often do  .

Brendan is the Captain and we’re passengers on the ship  

between the seven seas we are all sailors on this trip .

How true Turlough , wondering to myself about life  and what we write

I'm thinking if  the dizziness doesn't get us , we can stand  upright   .

Me too, I like my feet on solid ground my dad put the fear of drowning into me, I'm a true landlubber. Do you know the stories of the "Flying Dutchman" and the "Ancient Mariner"? Well at least yours is happier I think more on the Narnia book the "Dawn Trader".

Sounds like a pleasure cruise. Sorry, I know I'm ignorant, but Brendan?

You're comment deserves respect , thank you Tom , St Brendan is the Patron Saint of Sailors  and the poem here I wrote is a reflection of an ancient story called , The Voyage Of Bran . This voyage was made by Brendan to find this beautiful voice he had heard of a woman calling him and singing which made him go searching to find its source The voyage took them to an Land Of Maidens where time was not an earthly measure and so the time period they stayed there on the island Of Women was a very long time , hence when they returned to Ireland , the  first of the crew who set foot on land was transformed into dust and after that none of the other crew members dared to get off the ship . The story ends with Brendan and his crew left to sail forever over the oveans , without the ability to disembark .
