Mammy’s Break In Boy .
By Paul McCann .
Mammy looked a bit worried ,
she had locked up the house and
forgot to take the key .
We walked through the gap between
McAteers and Joe Soaps house to the back entry .
The back yard door was open
and we found the top scullery window
wasn’t locked .
“Do you think you can get in .“
Mammy asked . At the back door ,
Jacky McAteer knocked .
“Hello is everything ok Mary ?”
Jackie said .
Poor Mammy was embarrassed .
I locked the house and forgot the key .
She said and Jacky seemed a wee bit harassed .
So I climbed up the drain pipe to the window sill
then scurried through the window there .
Falling softly into the kitchen sink inside the house .
I was just like a burglar .
I opened the back door .
Mammy was glad she didn’t have to break the window pane .
Jackie seemed relieved and content
that the problem was fixed and went back home again .
Jackie came over later
“Could wee Paul get in the scullery window for me?”
“Sure what happened ?”
Mammy said .
Jackie replied
“I locked the house and forgot the key”
.

Believable! I think my mother
Believable! I think my mother had a story of when she was pregnant having to ask a neighbour if he could use his ladder and get in her bathroom window for her, but I think the conclusion was that as she thanked him outside her front door, the door slammed behind her …! Rhiannon

An all too familiar story
An all too familiar story that can so easily happen to anyone.
Thank goodness the scullery window wasn't locked. Glad it all worked out well in the end.
