I Am A Sinner

I am half way to perdition,
far too late for redemption.
Of the seven sins that are deadly
at least three are deep-seated in me:
I envy my next-door neighbour
and covet his beautiful wife;
I lust after her well-rounded body,
too hot to handle for the likes of me.
I am a glutton for punishment,
and stoically suffer the consequences
for making a pass at that lady
which is an improper thing to do.
I feel anger at times, I admit,
and yet I'm far too proud
to acknowledge my wrath
and pretend to affect indifference.
I'm told my sins can be overcome
by applying the seven heavenly virtues:
humility, charity, chastity, gratitude,
patience, temperance and diligence.

When you fall get back up again.
Because we all fall short, My suggestion would be to spend more time writing. Focus on that because you do that so well. Good Luck. P.S. Your sin will find you out. Lol. They know!

Deadly sins and heavenly
Deadly sins and heavenly virtues. Quite a balancing act the maker has laid on our shoulders. I think awareness is always a first good step . . . for the better, we hope. Good write, as they say.
Best,
Rich
