James Ellroy

Ploughing through his books.. God he is brilliant, it's like having your knuckles scaraped against a wall.

Reading the 'LA Quartet' and I can't wait to get to 'American Tabloid' and 'The Cold Six Thousand'.

If you have never read him, you should give him a go.

Sensational.

Where has George gone?

I miss him.

Who's our top user?

The new site allows me to see in its reporting data who is using the site the most. It makes for interesting reading. Whilst Mark and I are almost at the top of the tree we are being beaten by two other people. In at number two is the ubiquitous Tyler King (look it up son) but who do you think is Number One?

That's the list of real people though - by far the most popular is 'anonymous' i.e those who read whilst not logged in - so far they've knocked up over 406000 pages!

Whisky by Mo Mowlam

This really is rather poignant now.

Mo was one of the very first writers on this site - and her husband, Jon Norton, is still the Chair of the ABCtales Foundation charity.

She wrote on Whisky in order to help us to publicise the site at the very outset:

Mo was a fine and feisty character whose work in Northern Ireland and elsewhere has left a fine legacy. She is greatly missed.

Help me! Feedback please

Hey everyone

I'm a new "author" and have just joined this site to look for some feedback on the first few pages of what I like to pretentiously refer to as my novel. Never shown it to anyone before, so you ought to feel privileged. Just like being at a blockbuster premier...

If anyone would be so kind as to offer me some honest feedback (go on, I can take it!) I'd be really grateful.

Thank you sooo much!

Sarah
