The Boy in Khaki Shorts

The boy in khaki shorts,
Intrigued like the rest,
Has been told the story,
And needs to be the best.

He swims around my bloodstream,
Searching for the gift,
The only thing that will bring joy,
And seal up the rift.

A worried thought swims into view,
The child turns and goes,
He must return for the treasure,
To battle all those foes.
