Beach bums 

I want to live like a beach bum. 
We could go tomorrow,
get a camper van.
Drive off to the coast,
doesn't matter where.
I will braid my hair
and won't worry what to wear,
because anything will go.
You could even grow
A beard or whatever, wear 
your hair a little longer. 
We'll have a little dog
Cocker spaniel?
Let it roam around the sand
while we stroll behind
bare footed,
hand in hand.
We could do some odd 
jobs to earn money.
Just a little anyway.
Enough to buy our food
and some fuel,
so we could travel anywhere -
I don't really care
where we go or who we see.
As long as we're together 
is what matters most to me.

So nice. I've always wanted a camper van, and I used to have a little cocker spaniel called Mabel. You paint a picture of contentment - lovely life. Lovely words.

That's exactly what I did, except left the dog (Great Dane) at home... surfed, picked fruit, gased the VW, checked the wind directions, drove, surfed, worked, surfed... brilliant went all over NZ, surfed both coasts and made a lot of other beach bum friends, doing the same. Loved it and loved your take on it. Nicely rounded go-with-the-flow message that really does say "Let's just go!" So you should! Send us a postcard... Bye!

I so would if it wasn't for the fact that I have two little sprogs. Maybe I will start downsizing my stuff in preparation for packing up and going with them. Will need a reasonable size camper van.

We all dream sometime when the amount of 'stuff' we seem to accumulate grows so, and the responsibilities become a bit burdensome! Rhiannon
