The ones who never grew up.

 
The ones who never grew up - 
retained their imagination,
happy to play,
sit quietly on their own 
drawing, writing, making.
Still enjoy playing war
with water guns in the park.
Wet t-shirt - so much fun!
More likely to 
poke out their tongue
when someone offends
rather than bring in the lawyers
or wreak some kind of revenge.
Jobs and chores
are just an extension
of the games they invent.
They smile, they tease, 
play fantasy and make believe,
without any self conscious
eye rolling or mediocrity.
In fact..
there's still a twinkle in their eye
even when serious.
They laugh at their blunders
see the amusement 
of others - who take themselves 
and their misdemeanours 
too seriously.
I am one who never grew up
and I'm pretty pleased,
that I have another just like me.
