Deimos: The Broken and Damned

Deimos orders his bagel
and silently eats
watching through his Aviators

He hears people whisper 
every where he goes
but nobody will approach him

for once he’d like somebody
to prove him wrong
prove he deserves to be loved

His existence is a cruel combination
 of his father’s cynicism 
and his mother’s beauty 
(if only he’d gotten her confidence)

He’ll finish his meal
get up and leave
and still be alone
