I have a hobby
My dog doesn't like
I play the flute
I play it quite nice

My dog disagrees
He thinks I am bad
When you think about it,
It's truly just sad

He can't understand
The beauty of my song
Because he's a dog
He's got it all wrong

I am not shrill
The pitch is just high
Why does he howl?
Why does he cry?

Oh, silly dog,
One day you'll see
Until then, you'll howl
And I'll play harmony

This was one of my mother's gifts for Mother's Day. I dare say she liked it more than the clock. I didn't think she'd want a poem about her precious dog being an ass hat. I maintained the rhyming structure I originally wanted and the poem kept its integrity. I'd say this was a success. it was your faith in my dog, Magicdarer, that allowed me to write that last bit, so, I thank you!
