I found myself wandering down a familiar road
not recognizing anything.The sky was further away than it had ever been. I was alone and the now immeasurably large world echoed my plea.I almost felt as though heaven had descended for an instant of a second and there you were, in the tress and in the houses in that lonely street. Your essence carried by the breeze. I held up my report card to the giant sky and proclaimed how I had made it and hoped that you would be proud.Later the pain would come. The dawning only evident in my hidden eyes after one more thing that you came to miss. In those moments I would become paralyzed by your passing and the earth by turning, blasphemed. But that very first time still carries me through it all.
